1. About Us
TidyWaste is a trading name of J T Shingleton and Sons, providing skip hire and waste management services across Yorkshire.
Registered Waste Carrier Number: CBDU112776.
2. Our Service
We will collect, transport and dispose of waste in a proper and efficient manner, subject to these Terms and Conditions.
We will comply with all relevant waste legislation and safe working procedures.
We will use reasonable endeavours to provide services as agreed, but we are not liable for delays or failure caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
3. Customer Responsibilities
The customer confirms that the waste placed in the skip is not subject to special or hazardous waste regulations, including but not limited to asbestos, gas bottles, tyres, fridges/freezers, liquid waste, oils, paints or any other prohibited materials.
The customer is responsible for the contents of the skip at all times.
Waste must be compatible, stable and safe, and no hazard must arise from mixing materials.
Skips must not be overloaded or improperly filled. Waste must be kept level and within the sides of the skip.
TidyWaste reserves the right to refuse collection of overloaded or unsafe skips. Any wasted journeys or additional handling costs will be charged to the customer.
No explosive, toxic, poisonous or polluting substances may be placed in the skip.
4. Placement and Access
The customer must ensure safe, suitable and unrestricted access for delivery and collection vehicles.
If the skip is placed on the public highway, the customer is responsible for obtaining any required permits unless otherwise agreed.
The customer must ensure suitable lighting, cones and safety measures are in place where a skip is sited on the highway or in poor visibility conditions.
The skip must not be moved or repositioned without prior consent from TidyWaste.
5. Ownership of Waste
All waste deposited in the skip becomes the sole property of TidyWaste upon collection.
6. Safety and Risk
The customer is responsible for the safety of all persons on the site where the skip is located, including TidyWaste employees and agents.
The customer bears all risks associated with siting, loading and using the skip and must comply with all obligations under these Terms.
7. Damage and Property
TidyWaste is not responsible for damage to driveways, paths, surfaces or underground services unless caused by proven negligence.
The customer is responsible for any loss of or damage to the skip, other than fair wear and tear, and will be charged for repairs or replacement if required.
Nothing may be burned in the skip, and no markings, defacing or subletting of the skip is permitted.
8. Personal Property
TidyWaste is not responsible for any personal items or materials placed in the skip and is not obliged to return any items once deposited.
9. Indemnity and Liability
The customer shall indemnify TidyWaste against all claims, losses, damages, costs and expenses arising from the customer’s breach of these Terms or misuse of the skip.
TidyWaste’s liability for any single incident or series of related incidents is limited to £500,000, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
10. Payment
All charges are payable as agreed at the time of hire. Additional charges may apply for prohibited waste, overfilled skips, extended hire periods or aborted collections.
11. Refusal of Service
TidyWaste reserves the right to refuse or cancel service where these Terms are breached or where waste is unsafe or non-compliant.
12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
